The Remove Friable Asbestos course is designed for any person intending to apply for a licence to supervise removal of friable asbestos Class A or non-friable asbestos Class B.

Duration: 1 Day Max Students: 12
  • Class A Supervisor – Unit Standard 29766 Remove Friable Asbestos;
  • Class B Supervisor – Unit Standard 29765 Remove Non–Friable Asbestos; or
  • Demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills in either friable or non-friable asbestos removal.
Pre-entry Requirements: Site Safe (New Zealand) or Australian Construction Industry card, or other similar proprietary health and safety induction certification recognised in New Zealand.


Unit of Competency:

NZQA unit standard 29767 supervise asbestos removal



Formal examination and assessment process directly upon course completion. The assessment is moderated against NZQA unit standard 29767.


Delivery Method:

Training is delivered within a public training facility utilising theory and practical activities. Delivery will include instructor led presentations / scenarios, practical activities, and group exercises.

This course is delivered by a Greencap Principal Consultant and NZ Licensed Assessor with 30 years of friable asbestos experience, in association with NZQA accredited PTE - NZSafetyBlackwoods Worksafe Training.
